Hi all,
I've got a GT550 I'd like to switch out the gas cap on. I'm thinking of finding a mashed GSXR tank, cutting the mounting flange out of it, and using an aftermarket non-locking gas cap. Has anyone ever done this? Is there anything racy looking that's more period correct available?

Why is it I have a hard time welding anything that is liquid-tight? It seems like I always get a cold lap that leaks near my starting point. I can have a buddy TIG this tank for me, but thats not the point. I've watched guys that don't take near the care I do weld up stuff thats dry first time. I'm doing something wrong, any ideas?
