Man what freakin' blast!
I'm beat.
First off thanks to Jen for the ride up! NYC racebus rocks!
Great to see everyone and finally meet the rest of you fools! Monkey, Evil, Not Nicky, Pete, Jack, Aaron, Zack, Jersey girl, Soto, CHAMP, MikeO... too many to list. Good times.
I'll just speak of my own experience as I'm sure everyone had a different take on it.
RAIN?! Fukit, it was a blast to follow Zack in the rain and try to stay in the dry tire patch. Tannermatic belly pans really work! Mine was completely full (of water) after that second outing, had to clip it and drain off the water.
Zack, Aaron- you guys did a great job, I'm sure it was boring for you going so slow but it really helped. Just think after 6-8 laps you showed people the lines well enough to let 'em off on their own. Pretty impressive. The track walk with Turk, Karl and Carl really made a difference, I think I'll make that part of my racing ritual.
I goota add that after all my fussing and freaking out that my 350 had not one issue the whole day. (rain or shine) She might not be pretty but I'm proud.
So, it took me two years to get my act together I may be new slow and all that but I'm hooked and I'll see you fools at Vintage Celebration.
Thanks for all the encouragement along the way.
on a side note, if Jersey Girl starts racing you are all in trouble. She may be 'new to racing' but she knows the line and is comfortable on the bike. Damn fast. Watch out.
BORN TO LURK, FORCED TO WORK.
