There are mixed reviews out there from the Brooklyn community. One of the local guys bought the silver cb750 that benji built awhile ago and the bike turned out to be a real piece when I saw it. However by the time I saw it (it was at my buddy's shop) the bike already had passed through two other shops of disreputibale reputation and it was hard to say what problems were caused by who.

Looking at the metal work I'd say benji does a really nice job with the seats and tanks. I don't think it will have the same durability as a stock honda part but few things will, and it will definatly outlast a lot of the fiberglass garbage out there.

That being said I have spoken to benji a few times via e-mail and found him to be very helpful and nice and if it helps I am considering having a seat and tank made for one of my own cb750.

he seems (via email) like a good guy to me too. very willing to reply and answer specific questions about his stuff. to me, it seems a little on the pricy side, but since i don't make my own stuff...

i appreciate your input.

brooklyn like 11211? i lived in williamsburgh from '99 throug '02. (on graham between withers and jackson) i miss the hell out of it. my wife and i don't get back to the old neighborhood as much as i'd like. i think we're planning on the next trip being in oct.
Yeah the same brooklyn. I live in Queens, much more affordable but it is the suburbs, but I hang out in brooklyn (mostly greenpoint). When you are back in the old neighborhood look me up.

His stuff seems expensive when you compare it to the fiberglass stuff out there, but to be fair you would have to compare it to somebody like evan wilcox who hand forms aluminum components. I once got a quote from evan for $600 for an aluminum seat so to be fair to benji his $300 price for steel stuff is right in the middle between $150 fiberglass seat and $600 aluminum one. From this perspective I think his price is fair. To me the only advantage to having a steel tail like that is for me to take to a local welder afterwards and have an oil tank put in the rear section (maybe benji could do it but I don't know what he would charge).
