Hi all,
I'm reluctantly selling my R80 Cafe racer project. The truth is I've got way too many things on the go and I know deep down I'll probably never finish this off. The Conversion was initially done by a local bike shop near where I live, and they've done a sterling job. However it wasn't quite to my taste so after buying it I decided to spend vast amounts of money on lots of parts in order to build my vision. I want to sell everything as it is so someone else can finish off what I started.
So what's for sale.
BMW R80 1983. Overall in excellent condition. New titanium spokes & pushrod tubes. New tyres, custom sub frame, overall a very clean well built bike. The bike starts and runs perfectly. The frame had been modified and the rear foot hangers had been removed for a cleaner look. This is a bit of an issue if you want to fit exhausts in their original positions as they also bolted to those hangers, and the R80 is a single brake disk, and I wanted twin disks. therefore I purchased an R100 frame with front forks and callipers, perfect! My plan was to move the running gear over to the R100 frame so I could mount the exhausts and run twin brake disks. (V5's are present for both bike and frame.)
And then the parts. I think I've bought literally just about everything you would need to finish the bike, minus a rear tail light. There are:-
brand new drilled brake disks (these were £180 alone)
braided hoses
mudguards
indicators
solid steel foot hangers
Solid billet aluminium top yoke ( I had this custom made, was about £300 from memory)
Digital all in one speedo/tacho/instruments gauge.
stubby exhausts with down pipes
headlamp & indicators
stunning cast valve covers
new fuel taps & filters
quick release fuel tank cap
solid aluminium headlamp brackets
Plus some other bits and pieces
As stated above, pretty much everything is there to build a stunning bike, I've just lost interest.
