I just bought a CL 350 race bike to run in USCRA formula CB. After that I really know nothing about what I need to do. I have only seen one race, beside participating in the moto Giro.

Any advice on anything appreciated. I need to know about schools, safty gear, just about everything.

Thanks

you could try here i s'pose. carl took over the hawk school. other people here probably know more about it.

common sense should dictate the rest. good boots, leathers, gloves, and a good helmet. the uscra rule book spells it out. race-uscra.com go to school, get your license, then youre pretty much ready to race with any club around. oh yeah, get ready to have alot of fun.

hook up with the wankers (nyc). they know that there is strength in numbers. plus, there will be an extra cb350 for alex to steal parts...... i mean, borrow.

welcome to the cb350 club jack. i think your gonna have some fun next year.

jeff,

you may be the only person to actually have a uscra rulebook. does this mean i have to start following the rules now that i know this club actually has some?

texy

p.s.- jack, when you are ready, the wankers will appear.

JackC - You from NY (State)? I am in the same boat. After watching Tim and Alex (the other Wankers) have all the fun I had to jump into the mix. I have a race prepped cb350 that I am going over with a fine tooth comb this winter and plan on taking the hawk school in Spring and racing USCRA. I've been riding since a young pup, but never road-raced a bike on a track in my life. My goal is to lap Alex first year out(sorry Alex). Tim T. ("El Constant Gardener")is the fast Wanker from Westtown NY. The aforementioned Alex "the Dominican" or ("JP weld") is located in NYC and is coming into his own....just watch your tool box. I am the upstate representative of the Wankers - Pete or ("Yell'er") (Long story to be told over a beer at the track). I guess I have probationary status until after my first race. :)

Long live the Wankers!

Pete,

Yes, I am from Up State NY, Oneonta to be exact. Let me know where you are and maybe we could compare notes. Seems like a lot to learn, but these guys are very helpful. I know nothing about the Wankers, should I?

The Hawk School is gone. Carl Mcallister bought it now expert 101. I am about the same as you--been riding since 1966, but never on a track. I realize I know NOTHING, so I am starting out right.

yeller' pete-

new probational wanker rule...no parenthesis in rambling posts. you have a nickname, but not free run to represent. you were spraypainted "caution" yellow at a racetrack barrel fire for a reason.

Tim (the guy I am speaking to right now). What do you mean...parentheticals are a helpful grammatical tool. I have to point out that 1/3rd of the Wanker group speaks English as a second language; therefore, I think it is imperative that we expand his grammatical experiences whenever possible. <img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle>

monkey - - PISS OFF. You wanker. You suck. Just because you're from NY and I'm from NJ. And Tiloghamnn, why don't you get a real last name. Where's Branson?

PS. I've been thinking about racing in cb350 again. Just to hold you all back.

Casper (the I wanna lap Alex on the first run),

Parenthesis is a big no... no.... Tim how long you been knowing this tool? I like you Pete because your sort of Bi-lingual (dont have a choice - ask the wife), but I've added you to my list of I must take you down the old dirty bastard way.

List includes as of now:
- Pete Caspereta (twinkle toe)
- Joe Panzy
- Monkey Butt Tanner - You are currently the lowest on the list because once I'm done you will be T bagged! My bike is not pretty and no I did not waste money as most of my shit goes to Tim's spare parts for falling so much.

Notice that I left out Timmy. Let's just say he's gifted when we play football and he's in the recieving end :)

Pete,
I'm up in Saratoga....I'll help you with anything you need.
Racing has got a few do's and don'ts but othe than that it's just a bunch of fun. Just about every street rider I've seen has adapted to it just fine. Your first year may suck...they almost always do. Mostly mechanical issues.

Evil, in my mind I always call TT, Tim Tightman....cause I saw his name mispelled on the scoring sheets and it stuck in my mind forever. Tight-Man....I like the sound of that. He's a man...he's tight. Which can mean drunk, stingy or sexually desirable.

JohnnyB - Thanks for the offer and I may take you up on it.

Alex, mi jefe - I needed a lofty goal for my first year out...and attempting to lap you is just that...lofty. I am affraid I'll fall down if I try to keep up with Tim. Now, I that is about as much ass kissin' as I can do and I feel bad b/c I sorta hijacked this thread. so bye for now.

Wanker out!

Pete
