Hey a lot of new people posting...its great and most seem to be Streeters I hope the racers here dont mind or maybe JB will make Streeter Cafe area.

None the less, its cool seeing more and more people posting and more and more Street cafe bikes.

Well come to all newbies like myself here and keep posting and let us know where you are may be a "Streeter" in your town working on a bike and you didnt know it.

I was living in atlanta and owned a 67 Austin Mini Cooper "S" at the time it was in need of lots of work...so I joined the Mini Club South and man was I surprized there was a guy just two blocks from my house that had a garage with three of them !! I had my car for a year and never knew this guy was not only in my town but with in walking distance <had I not joined the club we would never had become good friends!

So the CAFE NATION is ON THE RISE!!! keep them stripped down !Raw! and mean looking!

Hey, don't feel out of place. I'm new as well but these guys put up with my ignorance and are usually really helpful with questions that must seem obvious to them. The terminology is confusing but I just ask and someone will explain.

Bull is referring to wether you ride only on the street or race as well. Many of us here race in a one or more vintage racing groups. Either way, always glad to see new people.

Bull,
We don't mind and the board is actually heading in the direction we had intended it for, 7 years ago. I think its great, I'm just a poopy pants for topics. And now that there is more then 6 people posting its tuff to find threads. Its great to see this many people in to cafe' racers.

Hey Im in Boston now but I had more then one mini just wanted to use that story to make a point...so you have a vintage mini or a new one(bmw)mini.

It doesnt surprize me it takes a sence of design to even notice the differences in a bike VS a cafe racer its the details that separate them.

An eye for a cool car and to seek it out and buy one is the same eye for design detail it takes to hone in on a cafe racer!

Still alot of lurkers...why be shy your missing out on the true fun of being a cafe-ier the people .So buck up and say something Im telling you its people that make anything happen not the bikes .Besides you could be in the same nieghborhood as someone and get a hand or give a hand or learn a thing or two.

Reading about it and Doing it IS WAY DIFFERENT!!

Somebody asked me the other day "how do you know it fits" well hands on trial and error (the journey) Thats how I know .And thats how it is you gain knowledge be doing, making mistakes, trying something new gives you an edge ...doesnt mean your better then anyone else you just did something they havent "YET" !

So come you cafe "LURKERS" join the pool the water here is great!!!

Im a newbie. It took me some five or so years to even know that the style of bike i liked was called a cafe racer. Much to my Big harley cruising dad's pseudo disappointment. He is happy however that I have maned up to motorized transportation instead of riding track bikes everywhere. I got my cb450 yesterday and that was my first time on a motorcycle ever. I drove it around the block about three times just to get comfortable with it, after about pass two (big nieghborhood route, ha) I was at easy on it. Accelerating and alright finding the groove of it all. I will be fixing it up and posting some pics and whatnot. But im glad this page exist, because i would be lost with out it.
cheers

You can edit what you write click on the paper and pencil logo you will see above your post. And welcome ....by the way a lot of harley guys dont like to admit they started on hondas or some japanese machine.

But if you cafeinate your ride he will see the merits in your bike it can be and look, just as Bad ass as his.Good luck and welcome aboard my friend!! George(still a newby here myself)

PS if you want to post pictures put them on a free web site and link to them.

It's been five years since Aaron and I started the site and it's good to hear that people are actually benefitting from it instead of only being a place to make wise-cracks to each other (not that there's anything wrong with that).

I'm really glad to see so many new people joining lately. And Bull is right, you new guys go ahead and speak up. It only makes this a more interesting place. And tell your friends.

Cafeinate the Planet!

these bikes will get increasingly more famous and not to far away the latest Cingular phone ad had a classic honda in it .

So did a recent levi jeans ad had a vintage bike in it so if its in commercials it will be in a movie hext then you will be sorry every one wants one...the prices go up with the popularity of the bikes..so its a double edged sword youd like more people to know what they are for value but then you can find them readily and affordably like you can now...im telling you dont wait forever to grab the best one your dollar can afford...time is a ticking

Under inspiration for newbies thread I have posted a few bikes i saw on ebay that were already cafenated with plenty of room for self expression left ONE IS UNDER 500 dollars...War Horse and Boxer will be on ebay soon but I wont let them go for under $2400.00

the third eye blind music video "semi-charmed kinda life" has a pair of brit cafe racers (a triumph and a BSA) in addition to the 1960 chevy and the all the vespa scooters.

The video for "machine head" from bush from a few years back also (mid 1990s) is a wild ride on a triumph cafe racer through london.

lost of 1980s movies have 1970s brit bikes in them (triumph in the terminator for example).

Serpico (al pachino) rode a 1967 superhawk with flat bars in an era when jap bikes were not the main stream.

I have mentioned this before, but I have a connection with some agencies that place bikes in ads and movies, if y'all want to send me som contact info and a pic of the bikes I will pass them on to my contact.
