I'd love to have this motor - but there is no indication that this is a cobra motor (1000cc motor) that RC was famous for. If I was closer (I'm 3K miles away) I'd love to check it out. Other than that - it's nothing more than another rat bike out there. Some else will pick it up - fix it up and re-sell it on ebay in few months with a different tank/seat setup.

IIRC at one point R.C. cobra motors had serial numbers. These were motors built by R.C., anybody who just bought an RC cobra "kit" could have stuffed it in a motor without any indication.

It does however have that rare as hens teeth R.C. crank drive magneto.

Russ Collins is still around and does EFI work now. You can try e-mailing him and asking how to identify his old motor stuff. Not gauranteeing you will get a reply but it is worth a shot.

From the questions on the ad - the motor was hopped up but was not a RC cobra motor (1000cc). It was more than likely a warmed up 750cc or 836cc motor - So let see how long it takes to make it's way back to ebay with a different seat and tank.
