A friend of mine just picked up a CB750. I'm not sure of anything more about it yet, I havent been able to get over to see it yet. However he tells me that onse it starts gas comes out of everything on the carbs, and the bike will only run at high r's. Any thoughts of stuff for me to check before I get over there? I've never seen anything like this, but I've also only ever worked on carbs from cars and Cushmans. Thanks for any help you can offer.

floats are probably sticking.

* tear the carbs off.
* buy 1 can of carb cleaner for each carb, and a toothbrush or a small *plastic* bristle brush.
* disassemble and clean one carb at a time. don't put metal wires down in the jets.
* check gasket condition, replace if cracked or missing.
* find a manual for that model year (see VIN tag if you don't know) and set the float height properly.
* look for air leaks on the intake manifolds (between carbs and cylinders). replace manifold if leaks exist.

Thanks, I'll let you know how it turns out. From the looks of the bike I may just try to swindle him out of it before fixing it though.
