Some rumors floating around here on the west coast about the Catalina Grand Prix being organized for this December! I may have to ship out the CB after all Any of you cafe racers wanna make a trip and check it out drop me a line!

Are you nuts, I know youv'e been doing some dirt riding, but mixing tar and dirt sounds like a bad idea to me.

The website will be up in June. The race is being put on by AMA / District 37 / Big 6 / - there will be a vintage class for 1974 and older. I have raced with District 37 and Big 6 - good guys, many classes, honor system as far as tech goes other wise they'd never be able to run so many races in a 3 day weekend.

I will race my 74 Yamaha MX125 just for the hell of it - just to say I did it.

In the past they barged all the bikes over from L.A. and riders take the ferrys. BOOK EARLY - accomodations are severely limited on Catalina

Not just rumors. See www.thecatalinagrandprix.com. I wouldn't try it on a CB, but I have run at the Elsinore Grand Prix on a CL450 on dual sport tires, with all the light removed. It can be done, but its hard work.
