Hi all,

Ive been in the market for a 70's Honda CB. It will be my first build. Looking for a 350-550 Twin bike. I found a builder bike, about 85% complete, but it's an automatic, which I don't want. My question and curiosity is, would the bike be worth getting and swapping in a good rebuilt or low mile manual engine from another bike? Id be having someone go through the engine anyways, not too concerned about numbers matching as it'll be all tricked anyways. Im guessing the headset would probably be different for a automatic too? Just curious.... Im new to bikes, Im a car guy.

Don't buy an automatic motorcycle if you don't want an automatic motorcycle,
for an enthusiast: it's just like cars, automatics suck. Early 350 CB automatics suck even more.

... don't ever recall a 550twin or did they eventually punch the 450 out that big?

I seen a mint CB 360 on Kijiji the other day at reasonable $
