someone i know recently bought a cb200t. it has a front disc but it's one of the old cable pull calipers that doesn't work for shit. his mechanic told him it would cost hundreds to switch to a hydraulic break. i'm wondering if anyone knows whether you can mount the later hydraulic caliper in place of the wire pull. anyone have experience with this?

It's a shame the cable style front disc isn't working out, the downside of hydraulic brakes being that fucking fluid reservoir on the bars. Cable brakes provide a much cleaner aesthetic imho. I wonder if the cable is the issue though - all things being equal, cables often feel mushier than hydraulics (they stretch), but in the case of old Hondas, the rubber hydraulic lines stretch as much or more.
