I need to pull the engine from the junk 350-4 so it can go to a new home. There are no carbs, pipes etc. on it. There is something sticking out of the front of the case that goes thru the frame rails, looks like an oil filter (?)that maybe just comes off.

What is the best way short of a torch to get the motor out? Any particular pitfalls to watch for? It looks like maybe motor mounts need to be removed?

There was a tread a while ago about pulling the motor from a 350F--is that the same as a 350 Four?

The new owner and I thank you.

No side panels to worry about on this junkyard dog. I went out to use wd40 on the bolts and notice the "oil pan" hanging a good 3" below the frame rails. No way I can see that motor will come out complete, but I know nothing anyway...

Take the starter motor out
way in the front
that barrell looking thing
Remove the 2 long phillips screws that attach it
then yank that heavy little barrel off
Then you can shift the engine forward
once the main bolts are loose
and you will be able to wiggle it out
from the right side
You dont have to drop it on its side or anything
but it helps to have someone hold on to the frame for you
Its easier than it looks once you get that Starter out of your way
