Ok, I am puting this basket case together and I got most of the wiring hooked up and I have a solid green wire with an eyelet on the end at about the middle of the wiring harness.
It is ahead of the battery cables.

What the heck does it go to?

I may have a few more questions about wiring. I tried hooking jumper cables up to it off of another motorcycle and only got the horn to chirp (I believe there is corrosion in the housing or it is making a poor connection) and the neutral light to come on.
I couldn't figure out why the starter wouldn't turn.

Thanks guys.

Sweet! Got it!
Headlight and tail light work.
Turns out that the wire to the solenoid (from the switch) was real nasty. She turns over now!!!!
I am gonna get some air filters on it and get some gas to the HUGE VM's that came with the bike and see how loud it is.

Anyone have any clue how I can get the air filters to stick out of the side like this?

before you can have filters stick out like that you have to paint your bike a gay color.

Maxy,
I don't believe you will be happy with those huge vm's on the street. Therefore, you should sell them to me for my racebike really cheap.
Just a thought.

Got the wiring done. Turn signals work, headlight works, tail light works, it turns over, etc.
I couldn't figure out why the turn signals wouldn't work.... gee... try installing a flasher!!!!:)

I took apart the petcock.... it was crustier than the bottom of my '28 Chevy!!!!
Luckily I just got a tank off of a '71 350 that had the same petcock. What do you know? That tank is near perfect, and the petcock was in EXCELLENT shape!!!

Now all that is left to do is make a seat, make an electrical box, find some cool headlights, and a few other nik naks.

you could use the elbow of some radiator hose to make your filters turn out to the sides but I have to say it is not the greatest idea. That HD is a flat track bike and the rider probably doesn't have his leg covering the airfilters. On a 350 I think both your legs will cover the filters on either side and the bike will run like crap. good luck.

Hey geeto,
I thought about doing that.... using radiator hoses that would go on the end of the carbs and stuck a filter off the right side of the bike. The left side is gonna have CL pipes with no mufflers.

I wouldn't see any problems with air flow to the carbs. It would have to be 2 1/4" rubber tubing to each carb (that is the size of the big @$$ VM's on there). I doubt it will starve them for air at all.

When I get it going, I will go to carquest and see if I can't come up with something.
