So I'm in the midst of my CB450 project, and parts specific to my bike can be hard to find or quite expensive.

I'm wondering - does anyone know what bikes use similar parts? I know some of them have got to be close, or even the same:

brake calipers/pistons
brake hoses
fork dust wipers (instead of those accordion dust boots)
tach cable

Anyone? Anyone know of an online parts reference where I can cross-check these part numbers against other bike models?

I know the CB550 shares allot of the same parts as the CB450...

On-line Honda parts fiches for older bikes are available here:

Look up the part numbers on your bike you want to cross reference and then check other likely candidates.

For "consumable" parts like tach cables, you can check denniskirk.com and if they have your part, they will post a where used list as well that tells you all the other bikes it fits on.

Well, after some research, Honda doesn't supply the top front brake line (by part number) at all anymore, so you have to go generic. Not a big deal, the stock one would be way too long anyway, and I like stainless braided line better anyway. Fancy!

ProTeal, you used dust wipers instead of fork boots on your 450, right? Where'd you get them?
