Need a hint here, I'm pulling the head apart, get to the torsion bars, the stupid clymer book says something to the effect of " apply pressure in the direction of the arrow on the end of the torsion bar, remove the holder, slide out the torsion bar" . There ain't no arrow on the end of the bar, the holder seems to have a sleeve through the bolt hole that fits into the side of the head, and my attempts at light pressure and tapping and pulling have yielded exactly nothing.
Any help would be appreciated...

From what I recall.... if you remove the bolt that holds the holder in tension with the torsion bar, the holder should slide right off the end of the torsion bar. From there, you can rotate the torsion bar to remove the valve retainers and other stuff.

But Ive been up for the past 20 hours working on SQL stored procedures. I might not be thinking too clearly.
