Just a thought.
After almost 2 years should I move these ramblings to the Project Builds thread?

Looks like somebody tried to remove it with a chunk of barbed wire and a pair of vice grips, must have been a bush fix.

grip it and rip it was the only option.

Cleaned up smooth as silk on the threads, rather less so with the bastard file on the head.

Not given up yet (still working on the $5 bet) and just about ready to pull the trigger.
Wiring was a nightmare. My incompetence for sure.
I have everything at the front working, only rear light to worry about.

Do have this right - kill switch powers the points even if ignition not on?
Ignition switch then powers the starter?
Thanks

Bike finally runs for the first time since 2012.
Delkevic 4:1 sounds amazing but definitely needs a silencer.
Ignition switch doesn't stop the engine so I need to figure switched power to the coils.
Brakes and clutch will be a useful addition.
Anyone know if I can run filament bulbs upfront with LED at the back?
Thanks

would have been so much easier/better had you worked on starting it 2 years ago...
Just curious if after all this time you understand what people have been saying?
Unless you are building a literal art project, a motorcycle is made to be ridden first.

Keep it up, though...
Congrats on getting it started!

jcw, I guess there was always a risk I could have enjoyed riding it round for a couple of years ;)

This way I have a genuine understanding of the bike (even the damn coils) and will shortly learn the ins/outs of this version of suspension.

A few photos of very slow progress.
Flipped mudguard mount and weld in washers as callipers behind forks.
Removed the calliper insert to allow the banjo bolts to twin discs to seat properly.
Smiling brake light/indicator set up.
Seat courtesy of my daughter.
Grey primer with electrical tape.
Need to sort leaking No.2 carb, paint things, bend the kickstart to clear rear brake and a few other bits.
I’ll then be chasing payment on the bet.
