DOT does not have jurisdiction over state vehicle codes. They have jurisdiction over vehicle manufacturers.

yep, all states are different. just moved from nj (car inspection, no motorcycle) to SC ( no car or mc inspection). that doesnt mean you cant get a ticket for a “equipment” violation. in my experience if your licence and insurance is good the law doesnt look any further. unless your a dick to the cop
