I am pretty sure that the bike started life as a 75-76 cb750F. At any rate the rear caliper is a 75-76 F caliper (so you could say those are factory brakes). The M/C and reservoir are modern however. That bike has a lot of expensive pieces on it (Although I think the shocks are those cheap chinese remote shocks floating around - they are not actually bad just inexpensive).

i have a 1974 cb400. is there another brake set up like that one in the picture of the cb750 which would allow me to put a disc on the back of my 400? i want to change the drum brake as it doesnt work too well and want a bit more bite to the back brake.i want to keep spoked wheels also.

is it possible within a reasonable price?

You could try a 75-76 cb750F rear wheel on your 400. might work, I don't have a 400 axle to compare to the cb750 axle. you would need to find a way to mount the master cylinder and such.
