I will enter the octagon......

Neat old race bike.
Has been a track bike for a long time.

Basic "barn find" condition right now.
Engine and everything turns over as it should.
Seems to have been stored very well.
350cc
Transmission gears swapped around for a better box/ratio
GT750 Water Buffalo front drum
Alloy wheels
CYB seat.
Kicker delete
HiPo Cam
Ported head
HiPo valves/springs
Few spares.

One exhaust has a crack(see pictures)
All and all it would be a great base for someone wanting to do some vintage racing, or an EPIC street bike.

I bought this a "package" to get something else I wanted.
Even convinced myself that I would try and put this back on the track myself. But I have to admit that my delusions of vintage racing are just pipe dreams and there are other things in my garage I would rather put the time and money into.
Would like $3750 for the bike, but very open to offers.

That's not far from being ready to run. I'd love to have it, and the cash to buy it.
Good luck with the sale, man.
I haven't done anything with it.
Agree that it shouldn't take much to get it going. Going isn't on the track though. The next racer will have to decide for himself how deep he wants to dig into it.
Jag,

Did you get that from Ron Respo? I recall seeing it on CL a year or two ago, not sure if it was Ron selling it or not. I have bought some parts from him.

Jack
So, if you were closer, and someone bought my gs750, I'd probably buy this for the riding the streets

Did not buy it from Ron.
Don't know that the guy I bought it from had it long.
There is a Lace Gordon in the tuning notes. Also seems AV Bosson owned it before Roy Seem.
Roy owned it for a long time.
Rumor is the bike ran Dayton in the 80s

I actually think this could make a killer street bike with some effort.

Im open to offers.
Shipping via UShip.com is normally cheaper then you would think....

I just like the fact it has tuning notes with it. The mark of a proper bike.
Are there any records of it racing in the tuning notes?
Yeah there are a few sets of notes. One showing the transmission modifications and frame bracing, one with notes from the original build (with LOTS of CYB and Yoshi parts) and a few of general tuning and results. Not a whole lot of "on this date the bike ran this track" type stuff....but some.

Cool! Hope it found a nice home. Bikes like that need to be preserved (and maybe used a bit, too ;)).

We race heavily modified versions of these. GIANNINI RACING Tannermatic
I construct bodywork to update these as well.

glad someone purchased it to hopefully race.

Any info you have regarding tips/tricks/parts to use is going to be greatly appreciated!

I'll be keeping it period correct, except for electronics and bearings etc. Right now I plan on using it on the street, but it will see track time in the future

Giannini ended up installing 5 speed racing close ratio transmissions ( lots of $$$$) and also grafting on a Dual overhead cam top end to build CR77 replica.
The bodywork is a custom tank and tail that is designed after the CR77 along with a proper honda racing full fairing.
The ignition is a custom PVL magneto ignition. Carbs are keihin CR for racing.

There are a few 305's besides Giannini's that race in the northeast.
I just happen to have a Motoplat ignition - complete on a modified alternator mount that Todd Henning machined for me years ago for a project that never got off the ground. It has been bolted to a CB77 motor to see which fairing I had would fit, but never run. It's all new and complete with coils and needs a good home where it will be appreciated and affirmed regularly. :)

Actually I have a couple of Motoplat units complete with coils that I collected when we were racing TZ350s a few years back. They have both been tested and are like new and would slide striaght onto a TZ or TR Yamaha twin. Bikes were sold and spares sat on the shelf.

I should start to move this stuff. I also have a rebuilt CB77 bottom end with cases machined to take big bore cylinders and a stripped crank that has been significantly lightened. It's here somewhere among other abandoned - I mean postponed - project parts.
