Hey All...

Here are some pics of my recently finished CBX1000 Cafe Racer in custom frame, custom everything... actually the only thing left from the Donor bike is the engine and that has just been removed again to have a couple of upgrades... to take it out to 1425cc and about 165hp at the ground. It should be back on the road after xmas.

Nice bike. Lots of MV style cues and the Kawasaki (?) wheels are nice and simple too. Is that a rear fender I just spotted hiding in the first picture?

Pretty sure this is the guy that did the featherbed Aprillia a while back - so the frame is probably his own build.

Hey... the wheels are 18" front and back 5 spoke Kawasaki Campignolo look a likes from the 1980's of a GPZ ... Nice look at 1/100th the price..

Someone is a pretty good spotter!! yes I am the same guy... quite a few bikes under the bridge and to far flung corners of the world since that one back in about 2009/2010.
and to answer the frame question , it is a custom frame of my general layout and dimension, but designed and build by my frame builder up in Shropshire , England, ex master frame builder for Rickman Metisse.
The frame and swingarm will be well upto the job as made of thick wall CDS tube, the back tire may appear to most as a little on the narrow side but having ridden a CBX recently with the same power , belonging to the engine builder , the power delivery is silkly smooth and turbine like and not like a 500cc GP 2 stroke light switch.. I am sure this power delivery will not tie the frame in knots... however judicious application of the right hand would be advised...

Rear brake is the Std drum set up from the 1980's Kawasaki GPZ but , you don't need much back brake when you have big brakes up front, from the CBR 929 fireblade and R1 wavy rotors, the bike only weighs about 200kg, 45kg less than the early twin shock CBX and nearly 75kg less than the later prolink bikes... the bike rides more like a modern road bike than a 1980's bike .... thankfully...

No not a moto martin frame, it is one I designed in conjunction with my frame builder , the full tube frame and thick wall CDS tube, massive braced and triangulated headstock , make for a nice stiff frame , not like the original that left the front end flapping in the breeze.

Nicely done - I hate to ask but how much money do you have tied up in this build...If you don't answer I will totally understand.

For sure this beats any Mickey Mouse beater that's been posted in a while...
