i was wondering if anybody had the specs on the inner valve spring free length....i have been trying to figure out mine....i went over the manual and mine should be way beyond the service limit but the outers are at the standard and the bike has only 12641miles on it???? please help....the only explanations we could come up with are the wrong springs went in at the factory or the manual is misprinted...oh yeah the manual is for a 1973 and i have a 1975 bike so anyone out there with a CL/CB 360 K4 manual out there? mahalo

it wouldnt surprise me if the length is correct but the spring is gone from the steel. i thought the important spec was how much tension/pressure they took to compress.

other than thet, i dont know.

we came to the conclusion that the manual is misprinted because we don't know how the inner spring wore and the outer didn't....the engine is going back together now i should have it done on tuesday....for anyone that saw the bike (ie. Aaron, JD, The Don, georGe, etc.) it is quite a far cry from the state it was in....i can't wait to get it done!!!

oh yeah the free length is real important....if the spring is too long then it will cause valve float, and too small (beyond the service limit) it will coil bind soon.....
