I've got a 1980 CM400 and my motor's gaskets are starting to leak. I was thinking about either rebuilding my motor, or trying to put something bigger on the bike. Does anyone know if there is a larger engine that I could swap onto my ol, heavy, slow, CM400 E ? Or should I just keep it with the 400

Not a lotta choices with the CM400. As in none.

Get a gasket set and rebuild it. Should be pretty cheap.

I have a 78 CB400T with the engine from a CM450 in it. Fits like stock. Lost the kicker, gained 6th gear. I didn't do the swap, bike came that way. But it's proof that it is at least possible.
