Just got back. Great weekend, great people, great racing. Never expected to see a replica 1934 50cc vee twin Husqvarna, or Hailwood's Hinda 500. Not to mention, more Manx Nortons than you could shake a stick at!!!!

This caught my eye when I was wandering through the pits. Its a replica of a 1934 500cc vee twin Husqvarna. Husqvarna made five of them. Stanley Woods won the 1935 Senior TT on one. The original five were destroyed in a fire. A guy in Sweden decided to make replicas using the original blueprints. He made five replicas. Took 3 1/2 years. The photo doesn't do it justice. Stunning is the only word I can find and even that is poor.

I suppose because I have a Weslake speedway engine in my Norton that this one tickled me. Its a mid 50s J.A.P. speedway engine in an early 50s featherbed. Not spectacular but looks like it could get the job done.

A friend of mine in Ireland sent me some old photos. This photo has nothing to do with Willow Springs but in one way it has. This is Stanley Woods after he won the 1932 Junior TT on a Norton(natch!!). He is the racer that won the 1935 Senior TT on a Husqvarna as in the photo I posted earlier. The man in the middle of the photo is Joe Craig, who guided Norton's dominance for so long. He left Norton in 1956 and was killed in a car crash in 1957.
