I got a browser hijacker and spyware on my XP pro machine @ home that no one has been able to cure. Got the same mindset as Branson and didnt want to wipe the hard drive so I cleaned it as best as possible and installed Firefox. Tweaked my security settings/firewall and have yet to get nailed again...knock on wood.
I wish I had the time and geekness to run Linux !
