Johnson,
That was out of 17 people in the rain. I was battling with last years 200gp champ and got up to fourth at one time and then the trusty BSA started showing signs of giving up (Loud noises coming from the motor). The motor finally went at the checkered flag, locked the rear tyre at full speed for a split second, and than freed itself up. I didn't even do the cool down lap, but I have shiney new 5th place trophy. I learned all kinds of new stuff and had a blast. Over all I heard the USCRAers that went south did really well.

Ya know I was just going to write that because that is important. I was wondering how the track is. I'm sure the weather was better than here. Johnny was telling me the other day about your race. He didn't say it was raining. I think that is great you came in 5th and at a track you never raced at before, so can I get your autograph?

See ya later

hey arron, the blow up means youre building the motors just right!!! if it blows as youre crossing the finish line, thats just about perfect. you really dont need to go any further than that anyway! hey congrats you bastard. not bad for a track ive heard people describe as being a "horsepower" track. way to go man. oh yeah, and you suck.

Chuck,
Mr. 250CHAMP has a real name. His name is John Stremper. He started this thread so I replied back to him as Johnson. Besides I call you poopie pants. Anyway my warm up lap was dry but by the time we got to turn 1 in the race it started raining and people were going down everywhere. They restarted the race which was cool cause I already got an idea whos going to get a good start so I just tucked in behind Paul and chased hime through a hand full of people and got to race around with him. I got ahead of him coming out of the horse shoe on the inside but he passed me back on the straight. He got in front of a back marker just before the chicane, I didn't and almost ate apex cones. I tried to catch him for the next entire lap but I knew the more I pushed that motor, the more my chances of finishing where slim. So I put the screws to the BSA on the last bank. I figured if it blew I could coast in to finish. I timed it pretty good, it went bang about 5 feet before the start/finish line which is banked so it was a little unsettling. Very fun stuff.

Aaron,

Congrats dude!!! I am actually proud of you. Although i have never been to Daytona, You have proved once again that you are a winner. To finish at Daytona 5 out of 17 no matter how, is a great achievement.

Good Job......

John

ps how fast was ponliet (honda 175)the winner??

we're home, long ass drive. I have a ton of sleep to catch up on, mostly because we drank every night we were there.

aaron did a great job racing. I was a little nervous when guys were sliding out in the first couple corners, it had just started raining. but he did very well. all in all we had a great time. I would recommend that if you can make it next year plan on it. I'm definitely planning on racing next time.

John,
His bike pulled on me like yours does down the loudon straight. The only problem is most of Daytona is a straight, so when the straight was over so was trying to catch him. I couldn't see him after the first lap. I'm looking forward to going back to Daytona next year with a full fairing and a 5 speed. Also John... looking forward to racing with you in the 200gp.
