Aaron - i would but Casey Stoner and i just don't get along. it's that or you got $30,000 i can borrow? the thing about the RS125s you and i have is they're made by honda for privateer use. in other words they make a bunch of bikes that are kinda like the ones the real guys use and sell them for $10k. but the legit honda 125s are up maybe 10hp and just plain tricked out...also about three times the money. most companies don't bother with selling GP bikes to the public, and KTM is one of those companies. i don't actually know what it costs, but i've heard somewhere between $30-$50,000 to get your hands on an actual 125 GP bike. Honda takes it a step further, they don't even trust their satellite teams with trick parts. they show up at the track with a trick rolling chassis and then they're met with a crate from HRC. they take the 52hp A-kit motor out of the crate, race the weekend, and then put it back in the crate and send it to HRC. again, that's second hand information, but it's from a good source (and yes, i made up the 52hp...just a guess).
long story short, i would love to ride a KTM 125, but i aint got enough of dat scratch. the other route is to find a dealer that seems to give half a shit about roadracing and see if they can use their pull to get a roadracer over to the states...and then sponsor me instead of someone better. assuming it would be a better bike than the one i've got, and if it was reliable, i'm pretty sure i could wrap up a CCS championship or two. i didn't miss by that far this year.
and joe had it right, KTMs are made in Austria. no i don't know why.

I'm seeing the makings for a new reality show- follow Zack for a year while he tries to get a factory ride and graduate from college. I'd tune in. If it's slow you can always work in the drunken sorority girls- pure ratings gold.
All it needs is a catchy title.....
