So, I guess when the manual says 8lbs of tourqe, they mean it.

I replace my clutch plates and disks on my CB750K5. when I went to put it back together I crancked on a bolt too hard and snapped the post on the clutch preassure plate.

Apparently Honda does not make the plate anymore. I have found one on ebay with a starting bid of $50. I also found a clutch assembly with a starting bid of $15. We'll see how those pan out.

I was thinking of using JB weld to see if I can repair the snapped post. Anyone have any comments on the wisdom (or lack thereof) of that idea?

Better yet, anyone have a clutch preassure plate for a 1975 CB750 K5?

jb weld dosn't sound like a good idea. if it comes apart, shit could get in the oil. do you mean the basket that the outer plate bolts into? where the springs are?

Joe,
It is not the basket. The manual has it labled as the clutch pressure plate. It is the plate that has four posts sticking out of it. 1 of the 4 bolts that hold the springs in place thread into the post I broke.
