I have no idea but it sounds like a cool project, post pictures when you have them.
actually, how close is the header pipe to 30mm ?

I think it's going to be a cool project too. I am digging into it again tonight. I'll get some measurements.I have no idea but it sounds like a cool project, post pictures when you have them.

Awesome. I'll look into it. Montesa 4RT mufflerIs that a double walled header pipe? kinda looks like it,
then mine would probably plug right inside rather then outside the header and be almost the right size exhaust.
Awesome, thanks KnappyFeet - looks like your DR is the same year as mine - 1993? I'll check out your suggestion. We have a LOT of desert mesa out here, right in my backyard - miles and miles of sand, trails and washes. The exhaust will be a hard one to find....a good one that is. I don't think even Cobra makes one anymore...I could be wrong. I was told I got the last yoshi exhaust in california when I purchased mine many moons ago.
Over at drriders.com I think some folks use old TL1000 cans. I think there is a thread somewhere there where a post 96 exhaust was fitted on a pre-96.
Great suggestion. Still working on the exhaust situation as well.I think you might appreciate a foot peg upgrade, those stock ones suck.
Wider pegs shifted rearwards a fair amount would really transform the way it handles now that you made it a solo bike.
Yes, most of the time standing. Any suggestion on a particular peg that you think would work? I have moved tank forward quite a bit. It feels very low profile and quite comfortable now.Definitely wider pegs. I've never ridden in the desert I assume you spend much of the time standing. You need to be over your pegs but you don't want to move your weight back too much as it will just make it under steer. Shorter tank or move it forward might be an option.
I have Hebo, Talon and S3 pegs, all of them are great, I think the Hebo were the most economical and Talon was the most expensive. All of them kill your boots quickly but not as bad as the kickstarter does.Yes, most of the time standing. Any suggestion on a particular peg that you think would work? It fit okay but it was really a tight fit. I made a little carbon fiber piece to hold the reservoir.... That's when I was making a bunch of pieces carbon fiber in the effort to lower the weight of the bike.Knappyfeet - Nice suggestion on the rear brake master. It fit easily there? I threw an Uni filter and jetted up. Seems to run quite well at 6500ft Elev.
I'm fab-ing metal triangle covers.
