If you are going to reposition footpegs and rear brake controls on a motorcycle that features rear suspension travel and was originally equipped with a solid steel rod operating the rear drum brake, save yourself a ton of grief and use a cable to operate the drum brake lever and cam. It is geometry that makes it impossible to alter the solid rod control significantly and not have it adversely affect the rear brake operation when the suspension is moving.

Fit a cable (or hydraulics) to operate the drum brake lever instead of that fixed length steel rod and no such problem can happen :geek:
