I bought this seat off of E-bay The battery is a UPS battery that failed to hold a 400 watt UPS But works great for this bike.
No electric start and such
It is in the tail section.
as is all the other electrics.

Do the brakes suck in general or is it just the rear, because of the rearsets? I'm putting rearsets on my bike too and just from loss of leverage form the stock setup to the new linkage I know its going to be bad. So are they at least manageable?

The backs are ok I can almost lock them up I think in my case this was a bike that laid in a field for about 8 years. so the drums have alot of pitting on them. I know the fronts need to be turned I have news shoes front and back.
And it has been a long time since i rode a bike with only drum brakes maybe it is just me.

That's a cool bike...love those Chambers too. Do you know who made them, I've never seen a set quite like 'em.

I have a name of a place that came highly recommended that relines brake shoes, probably can help with the drums too, for vintage roadracers, text from an email of 4 years ago:

The company you are referring to is "Vintage Brake" 15069 Lupine lane, Sonora California 95370 Attn Michael Morse Phone/fax 209-533-4346. They are not cheap but they are the premier quality supplier to the vintage bike crowd both on the race track and on the street.

I hope the guy's still around, I've been meaning to get a spare set of shoes relined for my stock RD350.

Good luck with your project, damn I love old 2-strokes!
