well i just had my first bike wreck. been driving since november, driven in the winter, while raining the works. a damn taco run got me. (yes i know its friday and i was getting tacos, but i haven't been drinking) dark corner, cut a turn wide leaned a bit extra to keep from going into the far lane and then the bike slide out from underneath me. the corner was saturated with fine gravel/sand. I lost my last mirror, buggered up my brake handle and brake foot pedal, and scraped my exhaust megaphone. picked the bike up drove it home. got some super mild rash on my chin. phew. the tacos were fine.

Oh... thank god... I was worried that the taco's were ruined. :)

Seriously though, any wreck you can ride home from, is a good one. The bike can be fixed. You'll probably find more stuff wrong with you this morning. The next morning is the worst. :(

Sounds like a combo of speed and bad road conditions. At least you know what went wrong. I still have 1 lowside that I have NO idea what happened... it's very annoying.

If your face is rashed and you walked/road away then you are very lucky. Take that as a SIGN from whoever and buy/wear a full face helmet. Next time(and there very well could be a next time)you may not be so lucky. Play the odds in a casino not on a motorcycle.

If the rash on your bike isn't bad just leave it,it's a character mark now and a reminder of what could have been.

sorry not chin, shin. my leg got some rashs. my bad, but i did get lucky regardless. the bike already has character so more isn't going to faze it. just replace what was broken and was't going to replaced anyway. (my brake pedal was a bit bent and scraped but i am going to put rearsets on it anyway.
