Here's a place to post anything/everything that you might have doubts about or niggling questions:

Do aliens exist?

Is climate change real?

Does 5G cause cancer?

Does it really matter if every living organism shows plastics contamination?

Why do we have a drawer full of socks without partners?

You know - a place to discuss the important issues as you see them, which are not - or maybe not - related to motorcycles.

What do you run for that? 13/42?
You mean how much syrup do you get from a volume of sap? It's closer to 44 to 1 the way I like it. Too thick to sell as syrup :D

Here in the states I have stopped buying the water they call maple syrup. It's expensive and unsatisfying. Nothing like having a soggy waffle right. 🤢

I do everything the old way mostly just to keep the tradition alive, I drill the holes with a brace&bit, use 150 year old spigots and metal buckets, no pipe, I collect everything by hand or with the snoscoot. I boil off in the same black iron pan I've been using since 1960's Usually put out about 100 buckets and that yields about 8 gallons of syrup plus some candy and it takes me around 2 ~ 3 weeks work

Even better, once Maple Syrup season ends Motorcycle season really begins

Maple syrup can be imported/exported to the states. It has to be labelled (what, PoO). I may be wrong, but I think it can even be from a private shack, like Trials operation. If not, there are lots of commercial operations around here and it can definitely be shipped south.

How many gallons do you want?

The correct spelling.
British english is traditionally taught in Canadian schools or at least was. Today they may just be trying to get them to form sentences.

Spelling is obsolete, we no longer use words. Acronyms are sentences now. LOL. OMG. NVM. FML.

FML, I don't even understand it's use. Is it an invitation for people to screw with your life?

DAS (dumb as shit, I think I made that one up) will be the societal result. Extreme PC policing and illiteracy, that should bring about some interesting situations.

Found a good 3 part video series showing how a steel tube motorcycle frame should be built, worth the watch (y)
part 1 starts here
Note the preparation of extra drill holes and shielding gas being pumped into the frame tubes before welding in part #2 :geek:

ROFL....
Hard riding today, you can go almost anywhere first tracks, but if you try to follow somebody traction disappears the moment you hit their chewed up wheel tracks.

Used bike market sucks. Craigslist is dead and facebook has a ton of title-less hacked up shit. Half of the crap is probably stolen. This make it your own internet movement has destroyed a crap ton of nice bikes. The fucking idiots think you can put a racing pipe and intake on a bike and not adjust the fueling. I tried to explain to this guy what a lean condition does to a bike and the idiot tried to give me some alternate realty bullshit about how the bikes just adjust themselfs to run optimally. Is everyone snacking on bars of lead these days or did covid eat their fucking brains.

Yes

... what about brand new competition only motorcycles, is now a good time to start selling them or a bad time

Competition dirt bike racers is a pretty limited market at any time,in Ontario. There aren't many places to ride anymore and the cost to enter the sport makes it prohibitive for most.
I have been watching for a used trials bike and the starting price seems to be about $6k. Plus gear and a way to move it to the site. That's a fair chunk of change to get started.

You sound like you are having a good time, do you want the hassle customers can bring?

Absolutely true on all points but still giving it serious consideration seeing as I have the place to ride, I already go to the events and lots of the guys I ride with already sell or have sold bikes, rarely it is to make money, most are lucky to just supplement their own riding habit costs. Plus it turns out to be 2 brands needing representation  Montesa and Scorpa
Better then half the people that come her to ride enduros for the first time ask about buying trials bikes, that's about 12 per year and :D most of them drive real nice pickup trucks worth stupid big money
