Here's a place to post anything/everything that you might have doubts about or niggling questions:

Do aliens exist?

Is climate change real?

Does 5G cause cancer?

Does it really matter if every living organism shows plastics contamination?

Why do we have a drawer full of socks without partners?

You know - a place to discuss the important issues as you see them, which are not - or maybe not - related to motorcycles.

You have had a pretty good run of weather so far, decent temps, not much snow. I'm not convinced we are going to get much real cold unless it comes in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

It's still lousy for sleds here, you hear the tourist on the weekends but nothing through the week when the locals run. The is no base and probably only 6" total, so you are just pounding on rocks. And it hasn't been cold enough to really tighten up the lakes to the point where you know you're on good ice.

 Snowmobile season has definitely started here, the ice is thick but some spots have water on the surface under the snow, only way to survive that situation is to wide open throttle, centre your weight and think light thoughts.
My 2022 riding season is done, time to service the comp bike ready for the start of the 2023 riding season

Holy  Ice fishing is an awful lot of work and costs stacks of money in equipment for the tiny number of fish you can catch, what do you have to do :sneaky: drop some fish food down the hole the night before ?
Sounds like cheating to me but now I have to wonder if it will work 🐟🐟🐟🐟

I have also heard garlic will attract fish.

Do you drop the garlic down the hole or rub it on yourself

We got some brook trout the other day. Fresh fish (that you know where it came from and what it ACTUALLY is) makes it more worthwhile.

Alcohol is the best. On a nice day, after a few, it matters less if the fish are biting.

No trout here, only walleye pickerel, 3 kinds of bass, sunfish, catfish, eels and pike. Super clean because there is no industry upstream of Dutch Lake  Some of them look like they were attacked on one side, maybe by a Loon, a Heron, a Snapper or something, still trying to figure that one out.

Nice! Those are a great size. I would guess lamprey eels made those wounds.

Don't think we have any lamprey, that would suck.

The sea lamprey is all through the great lakes and wounds like that are common on salmon and trout. If your body of water isn't directly connected to Lake Ontario by a decent size river it was likely a Northern Brook Lamprey. The wound would be about the size of a Looney. A hit from a pike is usually scars top and bottom from teeth. Yeah, if that was the case it would suck. You will figure it out when you catch one attached to a fish.

I've got my son in law looking into underwater camera drones now
Pike here are Huge
I have been wanting to build one. Maybe not drone style but closer to an ROV. Just for exactly that reason - There are some huge pike and lake trout where I fish in Quebec.

Bring it here, I'm closer and I have motorcycles with no seat  we can ride and spy on the fish

If it is small enough a fish can eat it, that might be a problem

I used to know guys that did this stunt riding and motocross stuff when I lived out west. They were all pretty much spent psychically by their mid to late 20s. The flips and huge jumps are quite costly when they go wrong.

This summer is gonna suck for me I have 3 classes a week to do on the crunch 1/2 time semester.

More and more I am thinking I need to try to start a Moto Gymkhana club. In my area as the off road riding sucks and I cant get a street legal trials bike to go urban outlaw on.
