G'Day Mate & welcome Eh?. The name thing is weird. I didn't think the language filter was on at the moment. I'll have to go in the back and poke around.

Great list of bikes. What part of the island that's a continent that tries to kill you are you from?

Isn't it amazing that a foul language filter can discriminate against a common given name and that's ok.

Discriminate isn't likely accurate. Unfortnately the man's name is also racist slang toward the Irish. I think he would be OK if you called him Ross.

It’s funny how the littlest oldest bike is your favorite, Is it original paint? Looks so cool (y)

Something is weird. It didn’t flag the F-bomb but it won’t let you type M.ick. We are mandated to be a PG-13 site. I am gonna go in the back room and type some bad words till I figure it out or @Classic250 bans me.

Ok, it seems weird.

As far as I know there is no VS language filter in place at the moment. I'm guessing that the previous platform had a basic language filter for offensive/discriminatory words, not for profanities.

The M word is discriminatory/insulting to the Irish, and since this site was originally English, it's easy to see how the original owners could have included it in a list of banned words.

Not sure if it is fixable at the Admin level - but will see what can be done.

Anyway OP, welcome onboard from one Aussie to another.

EDIT: Nope, only VS Admins can change the word filter - but I can put in a request, which I have done.

I'd like to hear that from an Irishman named Mick

lol this has become ridiculous, I think I have developed a sensitivity to the name John, it could be taken the wrong way. Please block out all reference to John's from now on, it makes me think of toilets and prostitution.

Put in a request to VS if you want the word John blocked.

I've put up my best guess - nothing more, as this situation has nothing to do with me or Tinsnips.

I have also put in a request to VS for the name to be removed from the list of banned words.

That's all we can do. VS have taken a lot of Mod/Admin powers off us.

Their business, their investment - they can do what they like.

Welcome Mickk.

Love the BSA scrambler.

Had a chance to pick one up in Nevada awhile back for nearly nothing that needed nearly everything. Ever since I found digitally controlled modern bikes I've lost interest in the tinkering and gained interest in the riding. Let's see a pic of that GS!

Hahahahaha

Ok knnaappy

The GS is pretty sad at the moment

Gotta get it up and running good then I'll worry about the looks

Went to change the chain and sprockets from 630 to 530 a couple of weekends ago and found that the front sprocket nut had12 ton of weld holding it in place

That will give you an idea of what I'm dealing with

Also every time I hit the starter it would fry the igniter box

That is sorted now , it was a crook coil

Thing is I'm a carpenter not a mechanic but I love tinkering

Especially when they ban me from the roads every now and then

Anyways fixed the drive shaft thingo , grinder off the weld , the threads on the nut and shaft were totally destroyed

Started the bike and let the shaft spin , held a file against it and cleaned up the mess

New button die and refreshed with a new 18mm thread instead of the original 20 mm

She's pretty rough at the moment
