Scott,
I use a little one in the front and a big one in the back. I prefer if they have most of the teeth on them and that the chain is not too rusty and reaches all the way around both sprockets and connects to itself without too many master links or wire.

ha...hey scott, i thought you were racing this weekend. but its next eh? good luck anyway. ross headed out to pocono this weekend for the track day. you should ask around on the ahrma list, there really arent many guys here i dont think who have run at gingerman. well, except the people youd already know. you could also try the wera board. those guys are pretty good and national. be sure and let us know how you do. first real race weekend right?

Scott,
Do you really think I know what is on my bike? For Gingerman I would run what is on my bike which is what I have run at Blackhawk,Grattan and Mid-Ohio. I do have another countershaft sprocket in my tool box that is either 1 tooth smaller or one tooth bigger than what I have on the bike. I do the best with what I have. I really ought to get some more sprockets, but I would like to convert to 520 chain too and a lighter rear wheel, so I will just run what I have again this year.

When is the Vinmoto thing at autobahn? I would be interested in going if I am back from Alaska at the time.

light is good...but many guys told me to loose my (heavy) stock rear wheel. it was the same one used on may moto cross models. i cracked the hub during the last event at nhis (labor day)(freaked me right out). the replacement hub i built my new wheel around was from a comparable bike two years later. the webbing was much more substantial and perhaps yielded a 2 oz. heavier wheel. i don't think i'll be any slower on my new wheel and i will sleep just fine knowing it is safer than the wheel it replaced. just my two sense...

Parks,
I think I could probably find something off a dirtbike that is lighter than the stock cb350 rear hub and is already set up for 520 chain. The reality is that I probably won't even mess with it and will continue with the 530 and the wide assortment of gearing that I have. I am fairly lazy when it comes to making changes to the bike if it is working the way it is.

Scott, I may be available for the June 20 date. I will be in touch as the date gets closer. Any idea on cost and times? It is quite a ways from my place to Joliet.

Scott,
Good luck this weekend. Have some fun. I don't think I could have gone to Autobahn anyway. I wouldn't have had time to get either racebike ready before then. I think I am going to go to Road Atlanta for Cyclejam with WERA the end of June. Anybody else going to be there?? I havent raced with WERA since 91. It should be fun.

aron,
i was around looking for you, but i guess that the rain got in our way. how did you do?

i only crashed once and finished both races on saturday and sunday. no points, but it took till the last lap to get lapped by the first wave. i had a blast.

i probably walked past you guys 3-4 times and didn't realize it. i'm the guy with the full ankle to knee tattoos and a bright green element that was pitted over by the pond.
