Sold my CL350 and bought a '72 CB450 K5. Sorry, I'm planning on keeping this one stock.

I've contacted many places and can't find air filters for it. Honda has discontinued them. I was wondering if anyone has some used ones that have still-soft rubber boot they're willing to sell. I've read about cutting/replacing air filter element and would like to try it on another set of air filters so I don't butcher the ones I've got.

I wouldn't mind switching to K&N's but you can't get the stock side covers back on. Of course I'll take new ones if anyone knows where I can get some.

How do you post a pic here?

Thanks,

Tom W.

K&N makes a stock replacement air filter for most honda models that flows infinitley better than the paper elements, and it fits perfectly in the stock honda airbox. I have one on my cb750 and it is tits.

I'd call honda and find out what other bikes that filter crosses over with (yes the 450 uses the same filter as other bikes) and then call K&N and see if they have one for stock on the bikes on your list.

Otherwise EMGO should still make paper filters for your bike. You need to find a shop that has a parts unlimited catalog and have them look it up.

These guys have an OEM parts finder within their site so maybe they have or can get stock replacements:

How bad are yours? I've got a set off of my '73 CB450 that I took off and replaced with the round style because I looked forever for stock replacements and no aftermarket company that I could find is making them. Mine aren't too bad but they aren't great but if yours are horrible I'd sll mine for next to nothing. Just let me know.

Thanks for the tips. Yes, I'm planning to modify the stock air cleaners, but I wanted to put in some oiled foam that could be washed or replaced in the future. And since I'm not sure how the modification will turn out, I was hoping for an extra set to work on. At least with my mods, most of the time they don't turn out like I expected.

Bettysurf14: If the rubber tubes on your air filters are not hard, I'll take them. Is your bike a K5?

Thanks,
Tom
