so i said to casey....what about me going racing for the upcoming season? in that question was alot about money for house rehab, bills, etc.... and also that working 6 days a week during the summer (busy ice cream season) would take away from my ability to do stuff around the new place. her reply was that i need the time at the track to get my mind off of my now two full time jobs (ice cream and handyman). she assured me that racing is money well spent, and told me I HAVE TO GO RACING! this my friends is true love. i knew it after our first weekend together at the track (nhis). on the way home when she asked when i was gonna buy US our first racing sidecar and then again when SHE planned our honeymoon to include the vintage festival at mosport. i got a winner!

i'll be at vir!

Texy,
Some how I have this image of you being in the new house and you are
the bad guy in "Silence of the Lambs" that has a hole dug in his basement hiding the little girl and all you want is the little dog "Precious"!!!

Hey Tex, any chance your wife can give inspirational talks to the rest of the guys wives, girlfriends (hope they never meet) about how to treat a racer right??
Sounds like a good sized shop, but before you get too settled lay out a plan for an extension to be added, it'll get small awful quick.

Wow, I can't imagine a house that small, that's crazy. I too was living in a tiny studio apartment (300 sq.ft) before I bought my house, but in my case the house is also pretty small, 940 sq. ft. However, it was quite affordable, and has an attached garage, albeit also small, 1-car size. Now that I'm way too full with 8 bikes in it, I'm hoping to build a shop in my back yard within another year or so.

Your wife sounds like a great woman. I always cringe when I hear guys talking about how their wife says stuff like, either the bike or I go.
How can someone profess to love another and then want to stifle activities they have a passion for? Beats me. I know Kevin will never get that attitude from me, I'm the one that's even more bike-crazy than him!

Good luck with the new place. If you are returning to racing it might be a good idea, with the income from two jobs, to purchase disability insurance, though. Here's to a safe racing season for you!

I feel sad for all of you and your spacious shops/barns/garages
and how quicky they fill up.
Whats a person to do?
Just kidding- I have Shop Envy right now -bad.
Tex I am still hiding the Bridgestones in My 650 sq ft painting studio
disguising them as a pile of non discript "stuff" but they have to go soon.
Congratz on the new House and cant wait to see Casey out there riding Monkey-

judy et al...

i have GREAT insurance finally, so no need to worry about that. i did enough time on the track with shitty short term or no coverage and have gotten lucky, but alas, no more. now i can really wick it up, bang bars, and swap paint with you pigs. see you in turn 1.

texy

p.s.- did a bunch of research on radiant floor heat today. i put one down with my bro two years ago, but that was a single zone in concrete. gonna do mine in a three zone system (1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors) all under the floor joists for about $3000.00.
