Mike O. crashed out early on with his Honda 350, but took a 3rd in the side cars with Spinney.

Johnny B. took a 6th in Lightweight, a 12th in Middle, and a remarkable 7th in Heavyweight all on his little Honda 350four.

Tony C. took a 3rd in the Open, a 3rd in Master, and a 1st in the Eurocup. Doing it with ever so much style and grace.

Aaron P. took a 2nd in Ultra Lightweight cause there was no one in his class and BSA's are the dung of the earth, but did do an impressive smoke show that ended the life of the little Ceefer permanently.

Joe C. was missed and was needed many times.

Also I've never seen such a nice bike pounded so many times in one weekend. The new Phil Busch Honda was put down by Johnny and then straightened out, and then I smacked it down like the bitch that it was... I did end up with a little crack in my rotator cup.

I've driven several modern and vintage bikes around Loudon, but that was probably one of the best built bikes I've ever driven.

You know thats the worst part of the way the season ended. I never got my chance to beat John fair and square, so now I have to listen to him talk about how great he is for a whole winter. John... I looking forward to next spring.

I guess now you'll HAVE to rebuild the BSA to beat him fair and square. Yeah!!! Cant wait to see it out there again. Kinda funny that John is still proclaming himself the best when I hardly ever saw him on anything on the track bigger than a 50cc! It'll be so long til he rides that canoli roller again he'll forget what to do on it!! He does take great pictures though. Too bad you didnt get that Benelli John. Did you get my email?? That was you bidding right?

Joe,
I can RIDE the Ducati with my eyes closed. You must remember that greatness is an aquired state and not given. Just look at Aarons past two seasons.

Still the best unless otherwise proven !!!!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

dude, youre funny. God, dont inflate his ego anymore than it already is. I think aaron might take you up on racing you with your eyes closed, if youre not careful. John, since we are in a relatively closed forum, any thoughts on belly pans from you?? Im not looking to start an argument here. Just wondering what your feelings are. I probably wont put one on my bike just out of shear laziness. If they mandate them, I'll do it no questions asked. I have had oil leak from my bike once in the 4 years ive been racing. Loose cam chain tensioner assembly. So an oil pan wouldnt have done a damned thing to stop that. it rolled across the engine case and onto my footpeg. A slippery peg alerted me to the problem otherwise I probably wouldnt have noticed it. I dont really know how much got onto the track surface but no one crashed anytime near the incident. I did alert the corner workers but there were no oil flags or anything like that displayed. I think the cars were really bad this year. There was so much oil in t3 from them. Then the antifreeze incident in t2 was really bad. I can understand the purists like yourself or aaron who dont want to use them becasue it affects the look of the bike. The same reason I think they dont mandate some of those open wheeled vintage sports cars to have roll bars. Well, that and a sports car costs alot more to cut into. Then there is always the 2stroke issue. But to be honest, I see a crap load of those 2 strokes barfing oil from the exhaust ports. Anyway, any opinions?? Anyone else should opinionate too if they have one. But remember, we dont make the rules, so I just want an open relaxed conversation.

Relax this! Joe you know I like you so I don't have to worry about offending you... What a fucking stupid idea. I mean the intentions are good but doesn't follow the "in the spirit" of things approach. Plus most oil, when your at speed, isn't going to go straight down. And unless you have a full fairing that goes above where your leak starts, its not really going to do much for you any way. Do you remember racing Jeremy and needing to use degreaser just to clear your helmet. You would need to cover his whole bike and him to protect yourself and the track from oil. Bret would probably run out of glass trying to make something like that for Jeremy. I think the idea behind it is in the right intention, but if you sat back and looked at the whole picture and realized if they just used the already exsisting rules we wouldn't have to make our classic bikes look like modern ones. I think oily tracks suck, but I think bikes that have the potential to leak should be stopped in tech. Tech Inspection has turned into more of a conversational piece that lets you know for next time what you might want do. I rather be turned away for being a stooge and properly preparing my bike, than to have my look like a Gixser wanna be.

the reason i got the oil shower from jeremy was from his pipes. i think the idea is to collect parts and pieces and oil from a thrown rod etc... the question is how many times have you seen that?? id agree that the oil just blows right on through. that was my point with the cam chain tensioner leak, if i had an oil pan, it wouldnt have made it in there anyway. it did oil my boot and tire nicely though. i dont know how i really feel about the entire thing. id hate to see a nice old true to form bike be wrecked by having a turkey roaster pan bolted to the bottom of it though.

fortunatley they dont fail you for that. or having a zebra striped furry seat. (although they did threaten once)

man, the uscra board is getting hostile. the sound issue has now come up too. these guys are really trying to make enemys. and some of us know how i feel about the sound issue. maybe aaron and i should start our own club....non gixxer as loud as you want to be non dual diskers racing. the only rules are, you cant look like gixxer, and you can only have one disk on the front. maybe some sort of displacement or hp/weight ratio break down just to make things fair. anyone wnat in?? that would be one crazy acronym for a url though. www.ngalaywtbnddracing.com (?)
