Hi all. What's a guy to do when he wants to replace his K7 gauges with something a little more period? Y'know, black or maybe even white faces but he doesn't want to use the mini or 2 1/2" type? I'm thinking around 80-100mm diameter. Ratios are 60:2240 for the speedo and 4:1 for the tachometer and I'd be really pleased to hear your thoughts. Ah yes, can't afford that German stuff however nice it is!
Many thanks.

I'm in the UK so local knowledge would be great. Having said that I'm quite happy to shop abroad it's just that the postage charges can get a little out of hand.

If you wanted period....wouldn't it be red?

Period for that bike would be blue or green. Nortons, laverdas, almost every jap bike all have some variation of blue, green, or blue green during that time period. Now if you want to be a douchey cafe kid and pretend his gauges are from the 50's when his motorcycle never will be....that's a different story.

Now if you wanted black you could have just said I want black.

DOHC CB750s from 1979 should have a 150mph speedo and a 4:1 tach all in black face. Plus the lights glow red which helps night vision. The redline will be different but you can mark your redline with tape just like the racers do. They are pretty simple, and should be pre wired to hook to your existing harness and cable. You want one from a 750k or 750c but not an F. I don't know if England is like the US but after 1980 all the cb750 speedos read to 85mph here (thank you Ronald Reagan). The needles on them tend to warp over time to try to find a low mile one.
