Lots of Harleys heading for the Laconia party this week. I was up in Bennington VT delivering today and saw a big pack of the badboyz coming out of the Bennington Museum (permanent home of the Grandma Moses exhibit), then one of them tipped their Harley over exiting and they all got off and helped him pick it up.

Then later I saw a bunch of guys stopped searching the road for something. Turned out one of them had lost an earring.

Things have really changed from when they used to shut 106 down for drag races and set dynamite off at night up there. It's a kinder, gentler world now <sigh>.

Well, I hope none of them were late for the wine and cheese party.

when the price of your motorcycle goes from a couple thousand dollars to $20K plus you audience tends to change. The badasses are still out there, they have just gotten too old to run far enough away before the fuse runs out.

Joke: How do you stop a hells angle from charging?

kick out his cane.

Just be thankful you don't have to work with and serve them on a daily basis. I get sick of having to explain myself everytime I get shit for owning something that is "old" and not "mean"...blah, blah, blah!!!
I don't know, I grew up with "the old stuff", big cubic inch bikes you had to actually kick to start, and you'd better know your bike (hot, cold, or flooded) or you were either going to kick it a hundred times, or suffer a badly buised instep, or maybe take a little moonshot as it launched you over the handle bars. We built our bikes from the boneyards for around $1000, and they expressed who we were and what we were capable of. I have much more respect for that type of build than for some asshole know-nothing with a big plastic credit card limit.

And when you were 17 or 18 and at your first National and bumped into somebody with a Harley primary chain holding up his pants, you said "excuse me, sir", cause' that primary chain wasn't really just holding up his pants. It's all over, as afr as I'm concerned. This, for the most part, ****** bunch of posers in their shiny new chaps, jackets and 20k and up machines haven't got a clue. The fucking rich fuck up everything, I hate em'.

I better shut up now.

bling, bling, kiss my ass..............

magnetoczar, I totally understand where you're coming from with the guys from the past and the way they were rode back then too...but when you work at the dealership where all of the snobby, rich bastards come to "show-off" their small penis's in their shiny new chaps because instead of being a Harley shop it is a frickin' department store, it just makes me want to scream! I didn't exactly grow up with the old bikers but I did grow up with old hot rodders and it is pretty easy to compare the two together in the way it used to be and should be still. I also apologize for ranting on and on.
