Whether one supports helmet laws or not...that's one crappy piece of journalism. Rife with errors....like suggesting that helmets help reduce neck injuries...when in fact they do the opposite.

I like this quote:
"Meanwhile, most of the costs to treat riders who are in crashes are paid by employers, insurers and taxpayer-funded programs, such as Medicaid and Medicare."

Duh...yeah insurers pay the cost...that's why we pay for freakin health insurance. Employers? Just what are employers paying outside the normal health benefits they pay anyway?

Helmet laws are joke anyway...I see the way they are enforced in NY...you could wear a tupperware bowl and not get ticketed. I think not wearing a helmet is dumb...but I think this reporter is dumber.

I agree that not wearing a helmet is stupid.. yet at times I do it.. as for statistics... I have heard that 98% are skewed...

However I don't think it's the government's job to enforce common sense, NRA member that I am.
Let them make laws against the people abusing the welfare and medicaid systems first.. then come after the tax payers...
