Hi all

well I said I wasent going to do this again but I talked my self into it. Im goin to build another bike with the kids. this time their is not going to be a time limit so I dont get too boged down at school. I have 4 new classes to teach and write cirriclum for so Im buisy but...... what the hell.... God hates a coward right? So here is my question to you all can any one tell me the hot set up for a flatslide carb on a SR500 motor with a 540 piston and a megacycle cam (not sure of the grind) and a cleaned up head?? I want to find somthing for this motor so we will have everything we need before school starts.
Now this year I have 2 project's to choose from and I think Im going to bounce between the 2 of them, one is the SR motor in a 1 mile starracer frame bit the kicker to this one is going to be the swing arm and front end. Im thinking a hooligan bike with a single sided swing arm and a modern front end. The next project will be based on a TZ250 92 frame and swing arm. I have a front end and cool wheels for it Im serching for a 4 stroke ktm, honda, yamaha,(any) modern 450 0r more. I know it has been done before but I think it would be real cool to try my self.
Well ill keep you all posted on what the kids pick for the project and keep ypu all up to date on the build as soon as we get the website up and runninig again
Thanks in advance

mike E may disagree, but the best really is to stick with the mikuni round 36mm. Mike has had good luck with the flat slide Keihin, but man . . . can you say jetting for atmospheric conditions? Crazy. Come up with the reasons for a flat slide . . . . Also, there is a Yahoo Group dedicated to just t he SR and these subjects, SR500caferacers. Also, you've probably seen

Well I was to be honest the cool factor of a FCR flatslide showing off in that trick frame with a singlrsided swing arm really will look cool. I think! just one mans opinion.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> I coudent find the sr500caferacer site. Ive heard everything from 36mm to 44mm I didnt even know they made 44mm carbs! Any way thanks for all and any info

we came up with an idea for you. mid o to mid o. buy the bike at the swap, one year to complete it and take it back to mid o for an auction or raffle. then youd have a one year period to do it.

what happened with the 350's? just curious what you guys are doing with them as they are pretty cool.

the tz with the 450 motor would be the trick. especially with the new 4 stroke things there are rumored to be happeneing. you could be ahead of the curve there. but yeah, its been done alot. still crazy cool.

thats kinda funny. that you guys didnt leave the kickstand mount then you planned on riding it. thats good. you cant just ride it right into the shop there? at my highschool our shop had roll up doors, so the shop teacher parked his wing in the classroom but our school principal also had some of the kids paint his charger drag car there too. im pretty sure those doors are gone now though.
