I could care less if the moderators delete any threads I've participated in. I'm quite sure my words are not so valuable that they deserve some kind of psuedo protection on a internet forum.
I'm for the good of the group. To be honest, in my many years on the net and moderating forums. It's usually the guys that scream about free speech that end up causing the most problems and pissing off the most people.
If someone wants to make an important point....write an editorial to your local newspaper. Cause trying to make "important" points on an internet motorcycle forum is just a waste of time. There are literally thousands of political forums to choose from, choose those for political talk, chose a motorcycle forum for motorcycle talk. Simple system when you think about. But evidently...not simple enough for a lot of people on the internet.
So...Mods, if I ever "bring it" to this forum, feel free to delete the shit right out of me.
That thread reminded me of W.C. Fields An actor from the 30s who used various words to get around the extremely rigid censors of the period. He came out with classics like "Godfrey Daniels" for God dammit and calling Baby Leroy "Ya little basket".
i thought it was really funny. i enjoy seeing people piss of mongo. imagine being banned for talking about whether oreos are better than butterfingers. then i wondered what would happen here. probably push johns buttons as much.
mongo is a bit of a whiner. 90% of the problems over there revolve around him somehow. he complains about people not posting correctly, but if anyones read the heaps of other shit in the general of there, theyd realize its not just politics and religion that are the offenders. and its mongo world, which is annoying. people just do what he says. hes that fat kid in school who could never kick anyones ass, but whos dad principal. i take that back, hes just a fat kid.
and yeah, people get waaay too worked about the the bbs stuff. they feel like they have to excercise their rights on both sides waaay too much. people want to raise crap posting, and mods want to show whos in charge by deleting and banning, which is equally childish.
i really liked how the circumvented it, and turned it into like 12 pages. funny. then there were people who were blatant about their pointin the thread, and never got banned. i actully cant wait til terrance gets back. thats going to be good
I picked up a used KLR650 to add to my fleet and replace my old 93 DR650. I got a really good deal from the original owner up in San Francisco. I purchased this for a couple of reasons... First... Me and my son want to do some adventure riding. He's going to pick up a KLR himself and sort it...
