nice 550 you have!

Hello folks.. my name is Wes and I'm new on this board.

Not a racer... but I can very much appreciate old bikes and racers.

I dig the cafe "kulture". Fast old bikes, black leather and redhaired girls. ;)

Here is what I'm riding today..

Hey Rob..

Yea! I've seen your website.. was surprized to see my 550 on there. :) Thats cool.

Its amazing how much attention that bike draws. I can park it, get off and walk away.. and a small crowd will gather around it. Even at Harley events. *laugh* I do get some negative comments about it .. but thats from the softtail_clone_wannabe_a_big_bad_biker(tm) crowd. I just laugh. That 550 can out run any factory HD...so the joke is on 'em.

Its not a fancy bike.. or have all the fancy bits on it...but there is a magic/aura or something that just oozes out of her.

Yea.. I'm in Ann Arbor. Oak Park isnt far away.. I did not relize you were in the area. What bike shows around Michigan do you get to?

We usually try and do the Blessing of the Bikes in Baldwin, Michigan. That is in May. The Gilmore show is in June. I had the cb550 at that one. July can find me at Mid-Ohio VMC, or the BBC rally in Wisconsin.

The AMCA show in Wauseon, Oh is also another good one for old bikes. That one is mostly American with some British stuff.

I've been to the Royal Oak bike night a few times.. but that was a couple of years ago.

Have you ever been to any of Suzi's parties?

Oh yea... I rode the 550 to work this morning. 31 degrees F here this morning.. and the bike started on the second kick. Awesome.

I don't get to too many shows. I haven't seen any that would interest me (ie, shows where an old Honda might be appreciated). I've been to Royal Oak many times, but I don't get much attention there. Actaully, my mostly stock metallic blue 550 gets more attention than the yellow bike. It must look too new or something. I've been to a bar in Fernadale (I think it's called the Way, or One Way, I can't remember). They have a vintage bike night the last Wed of each month, but it's mostly old Harleys. I was there only once when there was another Jap bike - 2 Kawasaki 750 tripples. The only place I've been that has many old bikes is the Bakers Loaf in ???. I can't remeber what city it's in, but it's just past 12mi on Northwestern. There's a good amount of old bikes there, mostly British, but a good mix.
