Hi , I have a 1979 Honda CX 500 and am trying to do a waterpump seal replacment using the "SHEP" method and I am a little confused about STEP# 13 of the "SHEP method that says 13. " Pull off any way you can the Synthetic Spring loaded rubber boot. This is the part of the system that most commonly fails and causes the weeping coolant leak". My Question is : Do I pull the whole assembly out with needle nose pliers SPRING included and leave the metal cup in the engine block , or try to leave the SPRING in and just pry the seal off the spring ? Any Info or help with this is greatly appreciated .. Thank's
