I did almost 800 kms on saturday and was fine. I think the best advice is not to have death grip on the bars and to keep loose

pretty much the same here, not sure what the degree of my clip ons are though. I should also mention that I am 24 lol so that is probably a few years younger than most on this site

If I'm on the SuperIII I'm good for about 400 miles then I start to get randomly angry. I draw the line at 350 just to keep everyone else safe....

Fuzzy,

How low is your cut seat? I've found that with clip ons (and clubmans) the carpal-tunnel factor is directly related to the height of one's ass. In other words, lower your bum and take some weight off of your wrists. Of course a reduction in seat padding could lead to other problems (a.k.a 'rhoids).

I just change up positions on the seat if I get uncomfortable / bored.
Best way to straighten your back is with the sportbike - "I'm cool" -one hand on your knee and sitting almost on the tank.
Makes for a good stretch... if you don't have rearsets.
And on that note, if you don't have em try using the passenger pegs every now and then.

At the spring Giro the sheepskin on the seat helped a bit, but I am also thinking about the padded shorts for the fall event. Another plan is to remove the passenger hand strap- it seems to be right under my butt where I want to sit, and you certainly can feel it, even thru the sheepskin.

My pedal bike, a Trek 800, has a big ol' seat from a scwhinn cruiser-the kids call it the Mary Poppins bike. I guess I just like comfort.

i gotta say that i haven't gone on a ride much more than 100 miles in warm weather so, all of my rides that were longer were painful because of cold numbness not the bike. but that's also because MY bike is awesome.

i cut up another, very expensive, saddle pad that was for the horse that died last week, it has gel inserts in it. i'm putting it into an even thinner seat pad. just need to do something about the buzzing hands thing lol.

that the best thing about riding a bike ,when all the planets align not many people on the road .sun and temperature just so,and even on passing a vehicle you look to see a flirty hottie .Its a mini vacation and some times you get them more then once in a week...ahhhh!
