I'm not gonna say I've never used a nail as a cotter pin, but I never thought to use a zip tie. Genius!

Ironically, I've actually put a tyre on a rim using zip-ties.....

I wanted to use green ones because they are the strongest, but I could only find black in a size big enough.

And sure enough - a few of them broke!
