I didn't want to spend the 200$ on the fancy motogadget ones since I'm using an m.unit for my next project so I decided to 3d model and print my own for 12mm switches. I did a 3 button version with 2 in the front and one in the back, a 2 button version, and another 3 button version with 3 in the front. I'd like some feedback if y'all have some but they are free to download here: Motorcycle Handlebar Switches

Direct from China they will be half the price of a retailer or these aluminum billet ones. Did yours cost less than $60 in design time, materials and depreciation on the equipment?
Put a magnet tether kill switch on it would be an upgrade,
tether switch retails for ~ 45$ and are becoming mandatory in competition, + it adds another layer of security on a street bike.
... unless somebody has a small magnet in their pocket, then all bets are off

it sounds like a great upgrade for added safety on a street bike. I can definitely see how it would be useful in competition, and the fact that it's becoming mandatory is a good indicator of its effectiveness.
However, I do share your concern about the possibility of someone using a small magnet to bypass the switch. It's always a good idea to be aware of potential vulnerabilities, even with added safety features.
They'd have to know about the magnet switch in the first place. I wouldn't worry about it
