Ok, I need a cheap, small, fast (or at least upgradeable to fast) single or 2 cylinder for my racer. Anyone have ideas? I need something I can find. I was thinking of hitting a junkyard to find something.

I'm not making a race bike. I just want something balls to the wall fast, light, good handling and something I can run on the street is most important and still bring to the track and do some ass kicking. I was thinking 4 stroke since I can run them on the street without getting in trouble

If you want a four stroke, Try a Ninja 250. Six speed, 120 top end and light. Two stroke, KX500. Make sure you have plenty of clean BVD's if you go with the KX 500. If you pick the KX, add a 14oz. flywheel weight to tame the powerband a bit. I've owned three of em and they are great machines.

Yah, the Ninja 250's are liquid cooled. They make great power for their size and weight. Redline is 13000 and you need to run it between 10 and 13 to keep it in the sweet spot. With a light bike like yours, I think this would be a great setup. BHP is listed at 38 but the rev factor would be great. Add a good pipe, carb kit and filter and I bet a guy could get close to fifty.

Cool, I amy go to the local junkyard and look for a junker. I see parts bikes pop on ebay everyonce in a while. I guess I would need the wiring harness, cooling system, and of course the engine. I have pretty much everything else. It would be nice to put disc brakes on the front, luckly my front end looks pretty easy to swap any front end I want. This is going to be a sick little puppy and I guess if my car doesn't kill me this may
