kaz yoshima nos 4-1 pipe for a cb550. it ended, i just emailed the guy to see what hed take for it. i hate my pipes. this is my 4th set and ive hated all of them. i had a new mac 4-1 for about 2 months before i took it off. tex gave me a full set, i bought a full set, and i had the original full set on it. all the stock pipes have rattling baffles. sucks.

sure seems like the exhaust companys have given up on the old bikes .Seems like some one should make them 1. in thicker material or stainless and Id be happy with thicker gage material. And 2. over all higher quality baffles.seems like no one has filled this niech which is only getting bigger.you have to look high and low for a non stock exhaust of any kind for the old bikes.
My tube bender I only have one 1 3/4 die for it and it only does one bend.I havent found a source for bike sized generic tubing in various bends to make up my own.You just wish these guys with the cad run tube benders would be old bike guys and make them up.

Im so far behind ,that I think Im in first.

rob ianuccii had a hydro formed set for the 550/500 about 3 years ago on ebay. 4-4. gorgeous. gp styled with the little swoop. i had to be out of the house when it ended. i emailed and emailed. even asked roper to let him know i wanted them like 2 days later. never heard back. im calling the guy who ownes these pipes today. he wants waay too mcuh for them as far as i can tell. was originally asking 600. they didnt sell. he dropped it to 500, still didnt sell. i emailed and offered 400, he said to call but doesnt think the owner wants to go below 500. which im not paying. the guy can sit on them for that kind of cash. whcih he will.

joe, if it makes you feel any better I was thinking about buying it. my dunstall 500 has a mac on it right now and I hate it. but I'm glad you bought before I could talk myself into it.

I have an RC pipe and for a very short while a Yosh pipe for my 750. The yosh pipe is way worth it, I wish I still had it.

DUDE!

That isn't a Yosh pipe, that is an Ontario pipe. Those things are much much better than the yosh pipes ever were and just as rare if not rarer. I don't have any SOHC expirence with them but for DOHC cb750F/900F/1100F those pipes are the shiznit. Seriously, that is a friggin sweet pipe (made in ontario canada) and at less than $400 you got a great deal (not just a good deal, a great fuckin' deal). the last Ontario pipe for a DOHC cb750f I saw sold for twice that.

Now what you need is a hot rod motor that can take full advantage of that pipe. Say a 575cc kit and massive head porting. Maybe CR carbs and a megacycle cam. A little headwork even with your stock motor can go a long way with that pipe.

i paid 5 shipped. the guy wanted 6 originally, which i think was a little high. a chrome mac costs 350 basically. i know how rare they are and the $$ attached to anything related to kaz. especially the 350/400 kaz stuff. the guy claims to have bought ths from kaz himself and it was one of the last sets of pipes he had. (but who knows eh?) that bike in the picture is also going to be going up for sale. he had some pretty heavy massaging done to that motor. im just glad to not have rattling baffles or a mac.

i wont be doing any motor work unless except for some jetting, airfilter, and maybe dick with the needles a little. i like my little stocker. its reliable and easy.

Even at $500 shipped you still got a deal. I didn't even know Ont made a 550 pipe (I'm not surprised he did), I thought all their pipes were for the later DOHC stuff. The DOHC pipe I saw sell went for $850 (plus shipping, off ebay transaction) and was used.

Just a little head porting, not much, just unshroud the valves a little and that motor will be a reliable, easy, little monster.

found this on the 1100f.net site, OMT 80's catalog:

http://www.cb1100f.net/Other/OMT/OMT.html

If JB is up to making pipe replicas I have an RC engineering pipe and a spare cb750 wreck he can use to make duplicates. I can even get my Yosh pipe back to make a copy.
